Lluvia de Palos is an interdisciplinary music and dance ensamble that work with both, the sound of percussion instruments and the music made with them, as well as other diverse aspects of mesoamerican cosmovision.
From sound and movement explorations, the group researches the native mesoamerican instruments and their past and present use, including the ancient nahuatl logofonetic writing sistem and world view as a way to adapt it to contemporary creation and diffusion.
The timbrical concept is based on the big mesoamerican percussion instruments: huehuetl and teponastli, However, it also makes use of the small ones, such as , turtle shell, rattles, scratcher, litophon, clay pots, bow, water sounds along with some clay and cane aerophones instruments
